I also guess I have decided to blog about them. I am a big girl! That is kinda why I went with the new free theme on my page&amp;#8230; it&amp;#8217;s called CHUNKY :P Do to some recent health issues I have decided to change this. I read on one of those &amp;#8220;How to loose weight&amp;#8221; sights that blogging helps so here we go&amp;#8230;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Over the summer I discovered that I am gluten intolerant and allergic to dairy, ok so I didn&amp;#8217;t pay the big money to go get all the testing done because I am broke. But I do have several family members who have and who had the same symptoms I was having. I also have very low blood sugar and am at high risk for diabetes, which I need to go to the doctor for but we will see. I do not want to be put on an medication so I am going to try to loose the weight first. Therefore I did a test run to see if this what was causing me a lot of health problems. I cut out all gluten and dairy&amp;#8230; and most sugar. In one month I lost 20 pounds by doing this. I feel like those things made me retain a lot of water. I also do not have anymore stomach issues along with other health problems so I am going to keep with it. Now it is time to kick it up though and add more exercise so that I can reach my goal weight. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I started this summer out at 220 lbs. and am down to 200. I haven&amp;#8217;t been under 200 lbs sense probably 8th grade and I am 22 now, so I will probably cry when I reach 199! The month of July was an awesome month! I mean I lost 20 lbs, by just trying to feel better. I don&amp;#8217;t know if you know what gluten and dairy do to your stomach if you are allergic to it, but it is just not ok! Anyway, now it is September 26 and I haven&amp;#8217;t lost anymore weight. I have started Grad School at UK so I think that adjustment has effected this, and I know it is going to take time so I am trying not to get discouraged. My goal is to loose around a total of 60lbs before my birthday on January 1st. I feel like that could be realistic. Over all though I would like to loose 100lbs and be down to 120 which is the &amp;#8220;ideal&amp;#8221; weight the doctor says for my height of 5 ft. I have been walking about 3 miles everyday and doing about 30 minutes of yoga this month. I have seen some changes but it is time to kick my own ass and get down to business.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I will be tracking my weight loss and what Im doing on here. I will also be posting some gluten/ dairy free recipes&amp;#8230; some that I have made up because I love to cook and most of all I love to eat! Of course there will also be some bitching about how life and trying to loose weight sucks. &lt;p&gt;As a general rule, you want to eat within about an hour of your workout, but sometimes your belly is just not ready for a big meal. Try a small, light protein snack like any of the choices on this list to get a quick re-fuel before heading home from the gym! You’ll start the recovery process faster and have more energy later in the day. Bring it with you!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3. Mixed Nuts or Trail Mix: &lt;/strong&gt;This is a favorite in the Greatist office. Mixed &lt;a href="http://www.greatist.com/nuts/" title="nuts"&gt;nuts&lt;/a&gt; are an easy way to get a delicious dose of protein in a convenient, shelf-stable package. Try a mixed bunch for variety and a combo with dried fruit for some added sweetness. The best bang for your protein buck?&lt;a href="http://greatist.com/health/superfood-almonds/"&gt;Almonds&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://greatist.com/health/pistachios/"&gt;Pistachios&lt;/a&gt; are high up there in protein while comparably lower in saturated fat than their nutty peers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4. Pumpkin Seeds: &lt;/strong&gt;Those orange gourds aren’t just for Halloween. The pumpkin insides, scooped out to make room for spooky faces, can actually make a healthy little snack once they’re washed, dried, and nicely roasted! Just ½ cup of &lt;a href="http://greatist.com/health/superfood-pumpkin/"&gt;pumpkin&lt;/a&gt; seeds has about &lt;a href="http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/nut-and-seed-products/3141/2"&gt;14 grams&lt;/a&gt; of protein — the perfect &lt;a href="http://greatist.com/fitness/pre-post-workout-snacks/"&gt;pre-workout snack&lt;/a&gt;!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;5. Hard-Boiled Egg:&lt;/strong&gt; Inexpensive and loaded with nutrients, &lt;a href="http://greatist.com/health/eggs/"&gt;eggs&lt;/a&gt; are one of the best ways to get a healthy dose of protein. Try hard boiling and pre-peeling a dozen at the start of the week and throw one in a small Tupperware container each day for an easy on-the-go snack. (Feeling extra famished? Slice the egg and place it on a piece of whole-wheat bread.)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;6. Deli Rollup:&lt;/strong&gt; Top 2 slices of low-sodium deli meat (turkey, chicken, or roast beef work great!) with 1 slice of lowfat cheese and a shake of pepper. Add a slice of tomato or some lettuce for extra veggie points!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;7. Nut Butter Boat:&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;Any vehicle for nut butter (almond, peanut, or cashew, perhaps?) is perfection in our book. Try loading a few celery sticks with 1 tablespoon of any nut butter topped with a few whole almonds or raisins (oh yeah, we went there). If you’re not a fan of celery, try scooping out the middle of an apple and fill it with a nut buttery surprise!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;8. Mini Bean-and-Cheese Quesadilla: &lt;/strong&gt;It might take an extra minute to prep, but combining these two high-protein treats is worth it! Fold ½ cup black beans, 1 tablespoon salsa, and 1 slice cheddar cheese in a small soft tortilla. Cook in a dry nonstick pan until cheese is melted and tortilla is lightly browned. Wrap in foil and stick in a plastic baggie for easy transport.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;9. Shake It Up:&lt;/strong&gt; The combinations are endless with protein shakes. And one scoop can go a &lt;em&gt;long&lt;/em&gt; way! Our favorites? The “Protein Creamsicle” — 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder, 1 cup orange juice, and 1 cup ice blended until smooth — (thanks &lt;a href="https://twitter.com/#!/jcdfitness"&gt;@JCDFitness&lt;/a&gt;!), and the “Star-&lt;em&gt;buffs&lt;/em&gt; Shake” — 1 cup iced coffee (with ice) and 1 scoop &lt;a href="http://www.greatist.com/chocolate/" title="chocolate"&gt;chocolate&lt;/a&gt; whey protein, blended — a caffeine-filled creation from Greatist’s fitness editor, &lt;a href="http://www.greatist.com/p/jordan-shakeshaft"&gt;Jordan Shakeshaft&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;10. KIND Bar:&lt;/strong&gt; We’re not huge supporters of prepackaged bars, smoothies, and the like, but we make an exception for &lt;a href="http://www.kindsnacks.com/"&gt;KIND&lt;/a&gt; bars. Their classic varieties are a great source of protein from the all-nut base (coming in at around 5 grams per bar), but for an even higher dose of the good stuff, try Kind Plus varieties with added protein. (An office favorite is Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate + Protein — one bar has 7 grams!)&lt;/p&gt;
